DAMN. I am IMPRESSED. Someone worked really, really hard on this. Whoever you are: I want to shake your hand.
This is a song about a person who drowns in a river and tries to seduce his lover to join him in death from beyond the grave. An excellent metaphor for a lot of life dilemmas, if you ask me, and a heart-wrenchingly beautiful song.
It brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it and I’ve had it stuck in my head ever since.
“Rest your head on the river bed. Drink from the river and find your way to me.”
