I had a great time interviewing Ben Ward from Orange Goblin before their show with Clutch on Saturday in Portland. We discussed the need real rock stars, why Black Sabbath is the root of all rock ‘n’ roll and why he hopes Red Fang will give Metallica a good kick up the ass.
I pre-ordered one of these because A) these are some INCREDIBLE bands on a label that’s doing something awesome and B) because I know in ten years I’d kick myself if I hadn’t.
I am beyond excited to say that officially MetalSucks.net’s new intern! If you need me, I’ll be celebrating on my balcony, in the sunshine, blasting Songs for the Deaf.
I had a blast writing 1,000 words on the 2013 Metal Alliance Tour and all of the bands involved. Hopefully you’ll find it entertaining, or at the very least educational, even if you don’t like metal!
I had the immense pleasure of interviewing Athon, the bassist/vocalist of Black Tusk. He chatted with me about fire-escape barbecuing, their newest EP, and how to catch fish with your own beard, as well as quite a few other hilarious tales.
In celebration of my interview with Bryan Giles being the top story on Oregon Music News today, I decided to post an awesome live video of the band playing my favorite Red Fang song.
I interviewed Dustin Hill of Black Pussy about Brant Bjork producing their new album, filling the “rock ‘n’ roll void” and why they’re never, ever going to change their band name.
